The Acer XF is our latest generation of game-improvement irons to replace our ever-popular Acer XK line that was named Golf Digest's 2009 Best Value iron. More chiseled than its predecessor to garner more a dramatic appearance, we were able to push the center of gravity even deeper (1.4mm) and lower (0.2mm) for improved performance. Another way to put it is the XF stands for extra forgiveness. The non-glare topline has been beveled to provide a less chunky appear at address. The XF Pro features a more compact design with reduced offset for better players.

Product rating I had my clubs made half an inch shorter and with lie of +2 degrees. Also a small weight was added to the club head and I used the hump shafts. In comparison with my old XK clubs when hit straight the distance is about 10 m more and the ball flight is similar height. The clubs hit faily easy only they are less forgiving then the old clubs resulting in more slice when hitting the toe and more hook when hitting the heel. So playing from the rough (long grass etc) needs to be more careful not to spoil the shot. (Posted on 15/09/2011)

Product rating These are excellent value and I would definitely buy them again rather than a named brand. 3i to AW custom built 1% upright for around £200 is incredible value. Their 'standard' length 5 iron being 38" is actually 1/4 inch longer than "some" manufacturers so bear that in mind when specifying any length AND lie adjustment. There is a trade-off for the bargain price though. I would say that the pics look better than the actual clubs. Back of club head casting finish is not quite as good as the pictures but don't let that put you off. It's not that far off and the rest of the finish is really very good. They do appear to have been built rather quickly with some glue residue, and grips that are almost but not quite perfectly aligned properly. Shaft bands not applied with an enormous amount of care but then again to maintain these prices how much time can they spare? Apollo stepped shadow is fantastic iron shaft too. I have used DG s300 as well and these Apollos are just as good but much cheaper in my opinion. UST Mamiya Tour PC grips are the best I've ever used for very little extra compared to stock Karmas - as long as you don't need cord. Could not be happier with these reduced offset 'pro XF' versions. Excellent and thank you Nordica golf for excellent service.
